Stress

Statistics reveal that stress causes or is implicated in eighty to ninety percent of illnesses. We live in an epidemic of Stress with stress related illness robbing us of the simple everyday life enjoyment our parents took for granted.

“Women are more likely than men to suffer from chronic mental and physical conditions affecting quality of life, rather than the acute and life-threatening diseases, addictions and accidents more often experienced by men.”

For many women being the main caregiver of the family and having the pressure of older parents, working or a career can be highly stressful, and accumulating stress takes its toll on our mental, emotional and physical health.

How does TM help?

As the mind settles into stillness, the body too gains deep rest. Due to this deep rest the flight or fight survival instinct is switched off and the rest and digest response activated to restore mind body balance.

“One thing that I find with meditating is that it helps me make better decisions. I’m more creative too. So there’s the element of reducing stress, reducing tiredness and all those feelings, but there is the positive element as well.”

Ariana Huffington.
